Boangeres "Bo" Roca
New York City, d.12.May.2024, heart
attack

Bo Roca was a New York City bike messenger and well known musician,
playing with several bands. He was a messenger at Breakaway and past
away on May 12, 2024 after a heart attack
Got terrible news found out that one of my cool NYC friends Bo Roca
just passed away recently from heart attack, I was shocked when I
found out about he died. He was a cool solid guy may he R.I.P -

I woke up to the news of @bo.roca.7 passing today. At first I cried
as I knew that he had such potential to be one of the greatest
guitarists and that he had nothing but the best intentions for
everyone he met. Then I thought to those who would be the most
affected and I thought there is something I can do.
Within 1 minute of meeting Bo in the hallway Funkadelic Studios I
asked him to play guitar with us. It was my instinct that he would
be great — and he was.
We jammed for maybe 15 minutes and Bo came up with the riff and solo
for my song “Monsta” - a song that came to me in flash and when I
reflect on it — a song that embodies what Bo loved - he was never
short of having the coolest goth and horror tees, boots , leathers
and loved all the music that goes along with it. I remember asking
him hey do you like Type O Negative #PeterSteele Pantera when he was
setting up and it was a unanimous yes! And so came “Monsta”. That
was also the day where my bass player had an emergency and couldn’t
make it so I strapped on my bass and asked Bo to lead me through
chord progressions - I thought as he was teaching me - this is a
master teacher, musician and all around person who loves to help
people - this is how I will think of him
He also said yes to be in our band photoshoot in Times Square as we
planned to produce and play out Monsta - the show with him never
came but the photos are eternal and in all the Bo glory!
So with Monsta I will move this up the ladder of my songs to be
produced . It will be a song and any monies generated from it to his
beautiful , wonderful girlfriend who I have had the pleasure of
meeting many times. Another huge hearted person and my deepest
condolences for her loss Eleanor Feige. - jazzrock.singer
