I recognize the value of the work by bicycleand foot messengers in this country. Many cities benefit from the reducedcongestion on our streets and reduced air pollution in our air. My departmentsupports active living initiatives as an alternative to the automobile.As we begin to decrease the usage of the single occupancy vehicle, we willsee an improvement in air quality and a decrease in infrastructure necessaryto support transportation.
