As many as 70 bicycle
couriers participated in the Coupe des Glaces agility and speed-on-ice
competition on the Bonsecours skating rink in Old Montreal yesterday. A
trophy made of ice was the top prize with other prizes including
courier bags and tool kits. Tom Ostreiko of the Montreal Association of
Bicycle Messengers said he hopes the challenge will become a yearly
event in the Old Port. A smaller version was held on Ile Ste. Helene
during Fete des Neiges two years ago.
