Driver is Arrested as Messenger Dies

Toronto Star, October 17, 1934

Struck by an automobile while riding his bike on Annette Street last night , William Fox, 14-year-old messenger boy of 449 Pacific Ave. sustained a fractured skull and died in St. Joseph’s hospital.

The boy was riding east on Annette Street near Clendennan and was struck from behind police say. He was tossed high in the air and landed on his head.

Admitted to the hospital shortly before 9:30 p.m., he died at 11 p.m. Police of Keele St. station arrested the driver, Walter Corlis, 62 of Glouchester St. on a charge of criminal negligence.
