Bay Window
Toronto Star, November 19, 1980
By Irvin Lutsky
Bay Window did a little musing about bicycle couriers delivering
deathless prose and lesser messages in the city core. We thought the
winter might create hazards for the commercial cyclists and suggested
bicycle snow tires.
Barbara Weiner, of Sunwheel Bicycle Couriers was quick to assure us
that the firm uses “winterized bikes and weather-proof carrying bags.”
“Our winter bikes are equipped with wider tires, better brakes,
enclosed gears and other technical improvements,” she says adding that
Sunwheel has ordered an intriguing bit of hardware to cope with winter
conditions. It is a three-wheel, 10-speed bicycle, safe on ice and snow.
Would you believe a 10-speed tricycle?
